Hello all I have a 2007 mustang Gt premium that lately has been experiencing some electrical issues…
Please let me know what you think I should check even if it seems stupid I’m desperate at this point…
Here is some background of electrical modifications…
I have installed a aftermarket radio and speakers in the doors ran by a 600W amp - (this isn’t very important to the issue at hand)
I also have wired in a N2B WOT Box and a HotLicks Flame kit…
Both the Hot licks flame kit and wot box obviously cut power to the ignition…
I was driving down the road and some kids asked me to rev my car and knowing me I reved it went to backfire using my flame kit and the car sputtered and died due to a lack of spark or aka the spark was completely cut because something got fried or a connector got loose…
After this happened I got stranded and couldn’t start my car because I had no spark so I undid everything in a apartment parking lot and took out the wot box and flame kit and wired everything how it came from the factory…
Still it wouldn’t start
So then next I checked fuzes and I found a blown fuze it was a 15amp fuze I believe it was eaither 39, 40, or 42 right by the PCM relay. I replaced it and the car started… so I started it turned it off started it turned it off and then started it and drove it to get chipotle. Well when I came out from chipotle after letting my car sit for 5 minutes it wouldn’t start the throttle body was making a fast paced clicking noise and the cluster had no communication to the PCM and I know this because the miles showed ————— which means the cluster has lost communication with the pcm which is weird because it only turns off after the key has been turned for roughly 3 seconds.
We unplugged some ECU harnesses and unplugged some fuzes and plugged them back in and went to try and start it again and it started.
I went back home parked it turned it off and it turned right back on then I let it sit and turned it on nothing…
The only engine codes I have are for my throttle body but I got a brand new one and plugged it in and got the same codes and I checked fuzes and didn’t find anything…
Does it look like I’m missing anything that would cause it to do this also it’s possible I could of swapped the coil power but then it shouldn’t run or at least run bad… but it ran good when driving before it stopped again…
I know my electrical is fine because it runs and drives but after sitting it won’t connect to the PCM I don’t know what’s causing this because the coils have power and so does the throttle body it has 5v on all the power connectors. Fuel is fine aswell. I am unsure what to check next I have a brand new fuze box on the way to see if that helps I will keep you updated. Thanks!
