For anyone who's removed their rearview mirror

I hate posting in Tech for the fear of flame but this seemed a little too specific for Chit Chat.

For anyone who has removed their rearview mirror, does the bracket that is riveted to the mirror, (the spring loaded clamp style that attaches to the metal windshield mount) is it tight to the rivets? After removing mine it has some play and I'm trying to see if it will tighten up with pressure when installed, or am I asking for a rattle?

Thinking of JBWelding the bracket down on the rivets, because intuition tells me the bracket shouldn't move in the mirror but not sure
