Ford factory Sirius antenna question

My '08 GT came with the Sirius radio and free 6 month subscription. In a few months, I plan to replace the factory radio head unit with a Kenwood DNX7100 or something similar.

I don't know if the Ford Sirius radio antenna uses the standard Sirius radio connector or is it a proprietary connector. I'm wondering if I'll have to install a new antenna when I install a new car stereo.

My guess would be yes, you will probably have to install another antenna.
Not like it is any big deal. Just put it in the back deck somewhere. I have my GPS antenna and my Sirius antenna in the back deck. They work fine

There is already a hole in the trunk for the factory antenna. I guess I'll have to remove that one and install the one that comes with the new head unit through the same hole. I was just hoping it would be an easier install with running less wires through the car.

I know this is a REAL old post, but I'm curious as to how this turned out.
