OK, so when my motor eventually takes a dump, I'm dropping a 500-horsepower 5.0 Aluminator XS in it.

Yeah what else is pretty cool is the newer aluminator now comes with billet oil pump gears so that's cool. I just got a price from tousley which was awesome but they won't be in until the end of january.

I'm sure you could build your own 500 hp N/A cheaper from what you already own. You only need to add between 80 and 88 hp to what the car comes with stock and you can cut that in half by upgrading to the BOSS spec. From 444 hp it's only 56 more horsepower.

BOSS heads and cams. CJ intake and throttle body. 12:1 pistons on real con rods. Headers and exhaust. Tune. 500+ horsepower.

While impressive, 500 hp is not that big of a deal.

What was the price?

The motor quotes for the lower compression motor with boss springs n billet gears in it was 7600 with free shipping. But that's for the regular aluminator the only difference is now they have billet gears.

A 12-quart oil pan is pretty darn nice if you're road racing. More oil equals cooler oil. Doesn't matter so much if you're only drag racing, though.

I would rather buy a fully-built motor with a warranty than pay someone to build mine to those specs. Just my preference, though.
