Have a 13 GT with stock non-brembo brakes and 7K miles. It just started making a popping noise from the front brakes at slow speeds when I apply the brakes. It mostly only does it at slow speeds and I have no idea what's causing it. I haven't changed or done anything to the car. Any of the experts out there have any suggestions before I take it to a shop?

Yea, I rolled down the windows and I'm positive it's at least from the front drivers side but not sure about the passenger side. It sounds almost like the front strut mounts do when they pop but it's definitely only happening when I apply the brakes. I am lowered but I used GT-500 strut mounts and had all that installed for 5K miles. Wonder if maybe I could have like a small rock or something in there?

Go through and check to make sure everything is torqued correctly even the lug nuts. Also check the front sway bar. Do you feel the vibrations in the steering wheel?

If it's a feeling like the abs comes on at slow speeds , it's a common complaint with the non brembo brakes.. Mine do it once in awhile

Mine did this for a couple days last summer and it looked like there was some corrosion on the rotors so I power washed them off real good at the manual car wash after spraying some cleaner on them. Make sure to not damage your paint but I actually just used dawn, water and light spray of de-greaser making sure to not get on the paint. I then applied the brakes liberally at the next few stop signs and it went away and has never came back. I've heard of guys having trouble w/ the clips making noise though and they had to go to the dealer to get those replaced. Good luck

Not sure what it was but now I can't get it to make the noise anymore. I really don't wanna take it to the dealer because last time I was there the little douchebag service guy made a comment about it being lowered so they wouldn't cover any problems it caused. I told him I installed it all so I'll fix any problems I had. Bad thing is I was only there to talk to my saleslady about getting another vehicle (my 4th from her) and when I came out several service guys were walking around my car, taking pictures and saying how good it looked.
