These are the 5.850" stroker rods that will work with the 3.750" or 3.800" stroker cranks. They have been to the balancer so you can see small amount of material has been removed from the ends but they have never been in a running motor. SOLD

what kind of power can these handle???

Just for reference these rods are the same ones that get put into the PJ Saleen and the Saleen 302 Extreme. So I would say that they can hold a good amount of power

Are these the rods that will make our stock blocks a 302 stroker? Don't you have to use the Saleen forged crank with them too?

Well you'll need a 3.8" crank instead of a 3.75 if you want to keep stock bore

Well I was thinking I wouldn't mind 302 displacement but I'd want lower boost friendly compression in the end.

the 302 will be fine. Just get a low compression piston

Well I'm toying with the idea of just buying parts as I see them forsale and then building up the stock short block.

Manley rates them at 700 hp at 8000 RPM. These are just normal forged Manley rods relabled with the saleen logo. Most engine builders using these rods rate their shortblocks at 900-1000 hp so I would say you are good to ~750rwhp.

The rods can be used with either a 3.750" stroke (this is the more common stroke used by livernois, etch..) or the 3.800" stroke (this is the stroke used in the saleen 302 stroker series).

With a 3.800" stroke and standard bore pistons you will get a 302ci

With a 3.750" stroke and standard bore pistons you will get a 298ci

Off the shelf pistons are more readily available for the 3.750" stroke or you can have any piston maker build you a set for the 3.800" stroke.

CP makes a set of pistons that keep the standard bore, Saleen uses them in the 302 build that they have. They are a little more boost friendly at ~9.4:1 with stock heads. There was someone here selling a set a little while back, don't know if they still have them. CP/Saleen part# 06-1603-B17343
