Gap between bell housing and motor on 2012 mustang gt

So i spun the rod bearings on my 5.0L motor and just put in another 5.0L motor. However the spacer plate in between the bell housing and motor stops and then starts again leaving this weird gap and im wondering if its a cause for concern?

The spacer for my 2005 was the same way, except the gap was oriented towards the top. I dont know the exact reason for it being like that but it let me slip it on after almost forgetting it, lol.
