Georgia Emissions Question

Not sure if anyone will know the answer to this, but thought I would try.....

My birthday is in November, but finally tested/passed last January 2013 for the November 2012 registration. Am I good to go for emissions until November 2014 based on the "valid for one year" of the emissions??

Trying to decide if I am going to swap out my x-pipe again and go catless.

For what point? The horse power you get isn't much, so unless your running a 2-step and you need to remove it for that reason, why go though the trouble?

It's not really that much trouble to switch them, just a pain to have to do it twice every year. Once before testing and once after.

I am thinking this is a loophole......

If my emissions is truly good for one year then i dont have to a: pay $25 and b:dont have to switch out the midpipe.

My drill would then be in October 2014 put the cats back on, get tested, leave the cats on and test again in January, then remove the cats after that test and not have to test again until October 2016.

It just reduces the amount of times i have to switch them out.

Its more about the sound then the horsepower gains honestly......

I think it's 1 year from the point of your birthday. That's my understanding of it, but this state confuses me with all that stuff sometimes

This is the wording from the website:

Preparation is key to ensuring you will pass your annual emissions test. An emission inspection is valid for 12 months or one registration renewal, by the same owner.
Georgia’s Clean Air Force (GCAF) recommends that all motorists test their vehicle four to six weeks prior to the registration renewal date (the vehicle owner’s birthday) to allow for any needed repairs. Vehicles can be tested well in advance if the driver will be out of the area at the time of registration.

I think this part kills it for me which i didnt see before....."or one registration renewal"

By that wording, it's by your birthday, not the date you pass. Make sense, otherwise you could just keep failing on purpose to keep getting added time
