Griggs Reviews/First-hand Experience Please

Pretty much decided already, but would like feedback/reviews on Griggs' S197 stuff. Gonna go with the street package, which prices out to a pretty good deal, and will keep me comfortably street-able.

My search here came up empty, so any first hand experiences would be great.

Note: I've read about potential torque arm bushing failures, but not concerned with that. Its a helluva lot easier to get at than the UCA bushing (which needs replaced on my car, fuck that).

I have a complete Griggs set up on my 86 Gt including Torque Arm and Pan Hard Bar. Different suspension than the S197. I have never been a "Handling" guy. Always been into Drag Racing. My car is outrageous in the turns.

Griggs Racing is a good company with good products. Though my S197 stuff is all BMR, I have used Griggs stuff in the past and never had an issue.

I think a torque arm set up is the best of both worlds. You can't go wrong with it either way. I'm not sold on the single upper arm that we have. Seems like that is a weak spot IMO. I'm looking at BMR's torque arm and watts set up for my current build.

A UCA bushing replacement is pretty simple

Don't "need" one, but I want to eliminate the upper arm.

Im sure the uca bushing is pretty simple. Pretty simple for shops to charge $300 in labor, too.

Rodger that. I was just going to point out that Griggs stuff is total overkill for a street car. Even a psycho canyon carver.

Yep, thats the one. Was gonna do the full race setup, but need(want) an engine, too.

I agree, it is overkill. Even for limited track time LOL. However, the kit is a great value, as opposed to spending $2k+ on Konis, springs, and heavy duty bars.
