Have you done this?

Have any of the turbo guys used a shot of NOS to eliminate lag? Sorry if it is a dumb question.

Not a dumb question at all. It can be done. Racers with really large turbos will do that sometimes if the rules allow it (or if they don't really give a shit about the rules).

Most of the guys that I know that are using NOS and turbo together are snowmobile freaks. Obviously their engines are very small so I thought why has nobody been talking about this for street?

It's more common than you may think. Just gives the engine a shot of power while the turbo spools up.

Just wire it up via a RPM activated window switch, set it to shut off at your turbos spool point on the compressor map.

yup. That's true. Check this truck out with a custom turbo kit, meth (wasn't on yet during the video) and nitrous. and the nitrous works kit was only used for that short period until it made boost. Wait for the infamous line from Ken Herring.. lol.

Imports do it allot, Motors are too small to spool the turbos, so they spray it to get the turbo spooled.

It isn't that they are too SMALL to spool a turbo... they do it for the same reason that big V8 guys do the same thing. Just to bring the RPM's up on the motor until the spool point. That way... they can run a larger, more top end friendly turbo, but still not have to wait for the lag to stop. It's basically a full on nitrous injected motor, up until a certain RPM, then the turbo takes over all the way inside it's peak boost ranges.

There are also boost referencing progreassive controllers so you can spary a large shot to get the car moving, then as you build boost is takes the nitrous out.

A small shot 25-75 of nitrous with a turbo is more inline for the drag strip and mostly manuals. With the standard you cant brake boost on the line like an auto can. So its basicly a way to get in the boost and power for a manual car from the line at the track. But either way nitrous makes a ton of exhuast gas and pressure right off the bat to get the turbo spooled faster.
