There's nothing wrong with asking questions, but well researched ones are much better received.

^^^ I couldn't help but think the same thing. It seems the student has quickly become the teacher.

Anacona, you will find that this forum is quite different from most other Mustang forums. Many of us, myself included, had to take our lumps as new members before we figured it out. Yes, there are a lot of smart a$$ folks on here, but there is also more valuable information within this single fourm than you will find on any five other Mustang forums combined.

We value members who do their own research and don't start threads on topics that have already been well covered and discussed. It helps to keep the fluff out of the boards. And yes, n00bs better have a thick skin if they post redundant, repetitive threads on such topics.

Shake it off, stick around, do some searching and reading. I think that as you progress with your Mustang, you will find the answers to pretty much any question you will come across concerning the S197 right here.

Well, just for reference, your thread is now IN the Chit Chat section.... which s the pile of shit section. If you are speaking in terms of what would be in the Tech section, that would of course be all things that are NOT pile of shit questions.

To clarify.... I now make sure I NEVER post in the tech threads.

Pile of shit questions? That's an interesting way to put it. While your question does get asked often it's not that bad provided you put it in chit chat. Still, you are going to get a variety of answers so the topic usually ends up being useless for the poster.

You might want to seach the mods you are considering and see what people liked or didn't like when they did them and posted about it.

For the most part talking about what part to put on your car is chit chat. If you were posting about how to install gears it would be tech but since it's already been covered you would probably get some rude posts unless it was a unique problem or something that was vague in a previous thread.

Let's say you were installing the gears and couldn't get the pattern right no matter what you did. Posting about it and asking for help would certainly be a tech topic.
