I have a 2005 Mustang with 130k miles and Anti-Lock brakes. I wanted to upgrade my worn components and get bigger brakes, so I got a brand new pair of 2013 take-off calipers w/brackets and rotors from Roush, I bought the FRPP Boss 302 hose kit and installed new Wearever Platinum ceramic pads.

I hear a screaming break squeal when I first apply the brakes, but never again after that. There are no noticeable marks on the rotors and they have even coloring.

I jacked up the front end and the driver's wheel doesn't spin by hand (pass side is fine). The pads really had a grip on the rotors. I got my c-clamp I use for brake jobs and compressed the caliper a bit and that allowed the rotors to turn. After a week of use, I jacked the front end up and sure enough the driver's wheel won't turn by hand.

Is the ABS doing something weird or what the heck is going on here? Just so you know, I do not "feel" any pull on the steering wheel and the rotor never looks any different color than the other side and I never smell hot brake pad smell. Any ideas?

You really only had to change brackets, rotors and pads to get the bigger rotor to work. That's what I have on mine right now.

Get all the air out of the system? Caliper may be sticking before it fully closes.

Another thing is to make sure you didn't kink the line and there is no debris in it.

Did you put in the rotor guard washer? I removed mine and the issue went away. Is the rotor sticking jniformly or is it only grippi g when certain pars of the wheel is o one side. Thats what hPpened to me and my speedshop that autox told me they always remove them. That can cause the rotor sticking o certain parts of the wheel. If it is uniform then try closing witb c clamp the pistons a tad more. Check tbe lines for debris and such.

Looks like I will be tearing that side apart this weekend. I was hoping that maybe a freak issue with Anti-Lock would cause the closest wheel to the unit to freak out. Looking at everyone's ideas makes me believe it is just old-fashioned slide pin issue/debris/binding or piston issue (brand new Roush take off, but maybe just a freak thing). I probably should have pulled the caliper out to look at the pins, but again you would think a new caliper was setup by Ford to run as-is for 100k miles.

To answer a few of the questions here:
69Mach - I hope you are wrong, but you may be right.
Another- No kinks in the line. Not sure about debris (this is my biggest fear-debris got inside caliper at Roush or in shipping and got itself in caliper bore - tear down of new caliper- ugh!)
Speed+ -I can't really tell if it is gripping at just one spot, since it grips so hard that I can't even turn the wheel by hand. I am thinking that you mean the finned rotor retainer? I got rid of those when I got my aftermarket wheels. I have seen that cause wheel wobble issues.
Eddie- Yes, pretty sure all the air was out, since I flushed the entire brake system w/ a few quarts and vacuum. I know I didn't need the calipers or hoses, but I was replacing 130,000 mile old calipers and hoses for the next 100k miles of abuse.

I will be curious what you find out. I had the same issue with new take off 2013 calipers and the OEM pads. Couldn't spin rotor freely. I checked the pins, etc and nothing seemed odd. No air that I could tell in lines. I decided to install my 50% pads (previously existing) in to check what would happen. With the old pads I had no issue. Swapped back to the new pads and had an issue.

Sorry to be a little off topic but you have me curious. On rockauto they list reman Boss 302 calipers for $140 each side. Could you just swap calipers and brackets while keeping the same rotors on a 05-09 GT?

Pretty sure bosses came with brembos, so no.

No - The bracket moves the caliper out which requires the larger rotor of the 11+ years when using the non brembo calipers and the brembo calipers do not need the bracket to accomplish the larger diameter rotor.
