Does anyone know what kind of times i should be able to run at 4700 feet? (stock gt, 5 speed) Only been to track once, and my best run was a 15.6@93mph. I've been told there is a 1 second slower time than sea level, but im still disappointed.
Thanks for the info. So 1 sec. is pretty close then. Still, I see videos of guys running mid 12s at sea level with simple mods like flash tuners and exhaust. I figured I should be able to run a 14 up here. Is it me or the car??
Need to see some time slips to determine what's causing the problem.
For example, a slow 60' time indicates you're probably not getting a good launch, which can result mostly from excessive tire spin(dumping the clutch at high rpm's) or bogging the engine(dumping the clutch at low rpm's). Also, a slow time from 60'-1/8 mile may mean you're either not shifting very quickly, or you're spinning the tires when shifting.
You need more info, calculate the DA. The weather plays a huge part. My first time at the track I ran a 14.6@98mph with a 2.4 60ft. and the elevation of the track is 3720ft with DA correction it was more like a 13.4@106mph this was when i was Intake/Tune only.
on a side note it was a test and tune and all the people I talked to said they were getting horrible 60fts too.
here is a DA calculator for you.. the names of the tracks aren't necessarily correct on there but you can find your track, the day you went and the time to get the #s you need to figure your DA. http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-altitude-calculator.php
