Zinc I disagree with you to a degree. The 2010+ got a much nicer clearcoat. The previous S197s weren't so blessed.

You touch it? You scratch it! PERIOD! End of story. I don't care what ANYBODY here or elsewhere tells you. Black will show the scratches from merely touching it with any force applied.

Air dry and repolish/seal/wax. Even then, you will need to polish it with a buffer/polisher to a mirror shine if you are extremely anal.

LOL! I've owned a number of them and even though no other color comes close to how black details and dresses up, I can't bring myself to own another one. I can't afford the therapy it would take for me to keep it scratch free like I used to. I used to use 500W lights to find swirls and scratches!!

I never willingly buy a black car. The first was my 71 Cuda, so I had to buy it. Next was my '04 Lightning, which I bought in December of '04 as the last one available at any dealer. Bought my '08 GT because it was only $23k, so it was a steal. And now the GT500 because it was a great price and had only 367 miles on it.

I keep swearing off black cars, but I can't seem to get away from them! Next time I'm going to buy a car with an obnoxious color, something Ultraclassic would be proud of.

I feel what Fullboogie is saying....I live on a dirt road and swear I will never have another black car.I just bought my 3rd in 3 years.All black.Insane I swear!As someone once said black cars are not just a job to keep clean...It's a career!!!

After the rinse off is done, remove the hose head attachment and from top to bottom just let the hose spray non pressurized water on the body of the car, this will push off most of the beaded water.

High powered leaf blower (electric not gas), air compressor, or a blo vac.

High quality microfiber waffle weave towels to wipe up the excess. Make sure to spray the MF towels with some ultra slick detail spray to add lubrication as well.

Having a nicely waxed/sealed surface also helps with the sheeting.

I've owned 4 black cars and three of them have been stangs. As many times as I say no more black I just can't do it. It's a commitment and you really have to stay on top of it if you want it to say looking new.

Same, my 83 was black, '00 was black, and so is my 2005. Its alot of work, but looks awesome when its all cleaned up! Till the first small gust of wind anyways!

Damn that was the only thing I thought it could be too but thought it might be something I've never heard of. Which QD is anti dust that you recommend. I use the Lucas quick mist but it seems like it still attracts a little dust once I'm done

Finish Kare #425, also it depends on the wax or sealant you use. Products like AQuartz are also anti static.
