I don't understand. If you can get them to hook what's up with the 2.1 60'. I suggest you push them a little harder next time. Find the RPM to where they WON'T hook then go a little lower from there. Try to find their borderline RPM and run with it!! My guess is for now all you need is more seat time....... launching that is.

It dead hooks out the hole then instantly bogs from lack of power for those tires (9:1 compression no boost)

Your right i was not leaving hard enough, first run 2.3 sec 60 ft 2000rpm launch, second run 2.2 sec 60ft 3,000rpm launch and last run was the 2.1 60ft was leaving at 3500rpms. I was getting better everytime just ran out of time as the track was crowded, so figured i get some advice before i go back again.

Did you ever get your launch down? If so what rpm were you leaving at? I know you were trying with out a 2step. But I have a msd 2 step and i was at hertford as well i started off at 3000 and bogged then tryed 3500 still bogged then 4000 still bogged. And at 4000 i was only building 2 lbs of boost. I have a 6766 cea with a .81 a/r and some 325/50/15 mt d/r's set at 15. My best time was a 7.85 at 102 mph with a 2.0 60ft

Yeah I was able to get it down to a 1.8 60ft on the 18" nittos with a little bit longer burnout and a 4500 rpm launch no boost. So I pretty much got my goal and my 11 second pass (11.7 @124 mph at 12psi). I have since added the wotbox with the 2 step so im going to have to relearn it lol. But next time out I will be on the 28x11x15 mt et drags and 17" runners on the front. I want to run a low 11 at 12 lbs of boost. Then I will up the power and have fun. Not to shabby for a 4,000 lb convertible ;)

At 12psi my car runs high 7's at around 98-99mph in the 1/8 mile.

I think the sweet spot is going to be around 4500-5000 rpm launch at 2-4psi of boost. I got these bias plys to dead hook at 4500 4psi 2 step launch on the street with no burnout. :)

Over 2 years... sounds like youve come a long way! I did my first 1/8 mile no timers tree or anything at TWS. Spun through 2nd every pass on streets, i did everything but launch in second

Its a slow process I've only been to the track three time in 2 years lol. I make it once or twice a year for track rentals, its still a fun street car for me. But of course its fun to drive the car all out at the track too!

The rear end and transmission seemed fine. It looks like it just hurt the drive shaft

And I wouldn't stay on the 2 step too long. Because at 4500 rpm i built 10 psi of boost and I think that was just too much to launch with.

Yeah i dont engage mine for more than 1-2 seconds. And that builds 4-5 psi.
