....since the new 6 speed in the 2011 GT will bolt up to our blocks i wonder what, if any benefit, there would be to using the new one and going from a 4.10 to a 3.55 or so?

better MPG on high way would be my first thought. However depending on what one traps in the 1/4 you may lose some ET and 60'

dammit...i thought i posted in this in chit chat...my bad.

i was just thinking perhaps it would almost be like running a turbo...you can get good/better performance with less rear gear.
im pretty confident that will be the case with the auto cars.

Has it been confirmed that the new tranny will fit right up to our cars? Would this be chesper then doing a 6060 swap?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, i'm at work and have limited access to the boards right now.

i read in 5.0 mag that the bellhousing patterns for the 4.6 and the new 5.0 are the same, so minus a few other things (driveshaft lenght, tranny mount, etc) i assume the swap would be fairly straight forward.
