Is a remap necessary when engine swapping 05 to 09

I swapped an 09 gt engine into my 05 gt keeping the 05 harness and ecu. Every since the swap ive had some weird electrical issues regarding the ignition coils. I was wondering if some kind of remap or reprogram is necessary for this swap to work properly. And no its not the coils themselves or the spark plugs that are giving me issues.

Hate to say it but sometimes it's best to take it in to a dealer to be scanned. Last time I had a vexing problem a scan found two bad coils. Yeah it cost me two hundred but I was about to spend $300 on parts I didn't need. 2 new coils and 10 mins of my time and all was right with the world again.

do you have a bi-directional scanner that you can watch the data stream while the car is running? Might get you closer to what the problem is.

I've swapped a 09 into my 06 GT (first time). Like you I kept the original harness and ecu. Did not have to remap anything but I did keep the original oil pan and TB. Also the spark plugs were different. The one issue I had was the car would studder hard after turning it on. That's because I swapped the exhaust oxygen sensors plugs by accident. Only giving you my experience tho I hope it helps a little.
