Eh, you'll be able to keep your cars, but the government will make it illegal to drive them on public roads. They are mandating automatic braking for rear end collisions. Backup cameras. Soon other driving aids, automated driving - it would be foolish to let people drive their old flinstone cars in this era. Think of the children!

And a $2300 price for a clutch is what you get for taking it to the dealer. Normal price at an honest shop would be a little over half that. Why people have their 10 year old car towed to the dealership is beyond me.

If you had any sense you'd be paying to have it towed right back out of there and to another shop. But it's your money, not mine. I'll shut up now.

Honestly, I dont know of any honest shops near me, nor would I trust any. Plus, I want my car back, not six months from now. This dealership usually takes care of my repairs. I wasn't going to sit in the tow truck, looking for Google reviews about shops. And cut the God almighty know it all shit, because I can think of plenty of ways to insult you over threads you've started. I'll stop now and take the high road.

I know what you're saying and feel your pain. Been there myself a couple times any paid premium price for work I could do myself on the cheap.

Please do yourself a favor and ask to see the clutch that you blew up. I suspect you already authorized the repairs so you're getting a new clutch and paying for it regardless. But ask to see it anyway and put them on the spot.

I'm guilty of using the dealer in a tight situation.
When I need something immediately I don't care what it costs, it is what it is.
For all other NON-EMERGENCIES I go to a shop I trust an hour away. (dealer ship is 10 min away)
When my flywheel took a shit I had it towed to the dealer, had my car back in two days and I know they do good work there.
I payed out the ass but it's only money, I got my baby back. :beerdrink:
