Timmbo I am shocked it blew up. There have not been many m90 engine disasters. I like your attitude towards it all. I hope I am as calm. I have close to 200 passes at the strip with the blower but don't flog it too bad on the street . More to save the weak 5r55. I have 10 k mikes with the blower as well. Good luck man.

I love your wife's style..... very cool of her.

Great support from your wife. I had great support from mine as well when we spun a top bearing. Then again, she was racing it down the track when it happened...soooo, kinda her fault, huh? Not really, I knew it was coming. Good luck with your build.

Timmbo, you got me scared with your comment about 7K hard miles. I bought my Bullitt with 13K on the clock and had the blower on it before it turned 18K. I'm currently at almost 37K miles and have well over 200 passes on the quarter mile drag strip (with either drag radials or bias ply Hoosiers). I also drive it fairly hard on the street. I absolutely love getting caught at red lights because it gives me another opportunity to practice my launch. :snoopy

^^ You two guys are lucky. But hey...I was just one of the unlucky ones thats all. I got two years out of it and quite frankly always wondered when it would go. I bought my Toyota Xtra Cab 22re brand new in 1994. Still today is my DD with 245k miles. Just won't die. My wife knows I don't buy, trade and lose money on vehicles every so many years so she's ok with this because she's seen how long I've kept my truck and cared for it. She knows the vert is my baby and "gets it". For me it's starting now with a new block capable of 1000hp and getting by with my M90. I'll get bored later I know but can really, really grow when I'm ready. Next steps over time will be a 6 speed Magnum trans, built rear end and a TVS in that order to get me to 650hp. Thats my goal. Doing it in baby steps keeps me interested.

I'll put this here as the OP should know about this for his up coming build and also because hellsbells mentioned it.
This is BruceH's thread about the boss block oil weeping.

Thank you for that. I will talk to Brent about it.

OMG guys. Don't ever fucking use Uship.com to ship a vehicle! The guy shows up two hours late this morning with this shit:

Really dude!!?? Wasn't wide enough to begin with. And I kid you not....not making this up.. just as serious as he can be to my face he tells me he can get a Sawzall to notch out the trailer body to get my car in there LOL!!! He says, "hmm, didn't know that there Mustang was too wide". Really?? You should have seen what he was pulling that POS trailer with. Probably a late 90's 4 door diesel Tahoe that looked like it may not make it the 420 miles. Really??? Can't help but laugh at his dumb ass though. He drove two hours here for nothing because he didn't do his homework. I missed a day of work so that kinda pisses me off. Then he's like "well, let me see if I can go find another trailer". I'm like fuck that. Listened to my gut told him to leave, called Uship and got a refund.

Rant off. Brent's got a guy for me with Elite Transportation that is coming Sunday to pick it up for delivery Monday morning. 40 ft enclosed gooseneck, power winch, hauled with a Dodge dually diesel.

Man...I thought Jared on Shipping Wars was a dipshit. This guy today took the cake!

Hmm, I have a 8.5 x 30' trailer that I pull with my F350. It is what I took my car to Breenspeed in when I went. I can fit my car, motorcycle, gun safe, lawnmower and misilanious other crap in it. I just did that when I moved here from Ft. Lenord Wood though. So how much are you paying?

Ahh, your trailer would have been nice for sure! That rattle trap he showed up with only had a width of 6.5 ft! Bids from where I am on Uship on the going average were high $500 range. This guy Brent knows came in around that as well. Hell at that price I may have it shipped back too instead of driving it back.

^^Too funny Makdaddy! Oh man...just wish I got a whole photo of his rig. Just laughable.

Donkey shippers.com......too funny!

Timmbo I have been putting myself in your position as if what would I do if my block blew out. Block with motor mounts etc...about $5500 if I can reuse my current heads etc... then of course the stock 5r55 isnt gonna hold up so that means a new tranny. A built up 5r55 from PA Automatics about $4k and all this is before shipping to Maui. Then I gotta install it. In the end I gotta ask myself is it worth it to spend $12-15k or just drop in a used 4.6, sell the car and get a 2014.

I gotta say I dont know what I would do.

Nice that brenspeed wasnt backed up with other installs and could fit you in so fast.

Yeah I know. The actual date he gave me was June 3rd. But he wanted my car asap so they could pull the heads and get them to the machine shop and get the car prepped for the install. I saved myself some labor costs by basically getting the engine removal down to removing the trans to motor bolts and the two bolts on the motor mounts and it's ready to pop out. Brent has been very accommodating.

Good luck, sounds like a sweet build!!

Thanks. Driver got here last night. Very nice rig. Felt bad I got oil on his ramp and floor. Charles with Elite Transportation is first class all the way. He travels everywhere. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again. Here is his contact number: 901-383-0486.
