Lifter tick on 1 gen coyote

Yo so I have a 2012 mustang started ticking at first it was coyote tick but now I’m realizing it’s a lifter just earlier it misfired for the first time at the moment I don’t have the money to replace it is there any fixes or oil or something I can run that can make the car last me until I get the money to fix it which won’t be until another 3 weeks or so

How have you come to the conclusion it’s a lifter tapping?

Actually they do have hydraulic lifters known as lash adjusters, and the small roller rockers that push down on them are also known as cam followers.
The problem might not be a lash adjuster but actually be a seized or broken cam follower. If that's the case, don't drive the car until you've investigated it. Otherwise you could risk catastrophic engine damage.

They are not lifters though. Lifters lift a push rod. These lash adjusters only keep tension on the follower so it stays tight to the cam. They don’t lift anything.

The problem is that I need to be able to drive the car it’s the only thing I have to go to work and school atm

How have you determined what’s going on with it? Thicker oil may quiet a noise, but it will not fix anything. The early gen 1 cars were bad about spinning rod bearings. Some of the 11-12 cars had cylinder head issues as well, they would also cause a tapping noise.

The car drives fine but when it’s idling at operating temps it idles kinda rough goes up and down from like 900 to 1300 rpms and on a cold start you don’t hear the tick but when it warms up you do after have the engine past 2800 rpms it goes away but I misfire on my for the first time yesterday on first gear because Ik my exhaust pops and crackles but I’m pretty i was at high enough rpms for it to do it Im also new to the coyote platform I’m more of an ls type of guy but my old ls had the same type sound and it came out to be lifter tick
