sorry to go off topic and for the noob questions, but i keep seeing all this about an H pipe. what is an H pipe and what does it do?
i am now deciding between axle back mufflers for sound, and that decision is hard enough... seems everyone is pushing me to get the magnapacks... i originally wanted flowmasters but the hated drone problem is not worth it.
I also just ran into a guy with an 09 shelby at the gas station with the badest sounding car i've heard yet, I asked what he had and his accent was tough to understand but I got "H pipe and some kind of mufflers", thats it.
Thanks!
H pipe is the design of the crossover pipe, there and 3 designs, X pipe, H pipe, and prochamber. The X pipe looks like and X, it flows better and makes a higher pitch raspier sound. The H pipe looks like an H, it has better low end torque and makes a deeper tone. The H pipe tends to trumpet more. The prochamber is basically a single chamber muffler used as a crossover pipe
