Heres a small collection of my machining projects I have completed in school.
This boring head I am probably 95% of the way done, I need my 1/4"-40 tap so I can thread the part for the dial.
The hammer below is a deadblow I made last fall.
The cannon I slapped together earlier this semester to sit on my desk, actually fits a .50 lead ball, isnt drilled to light powder tho, maybe another day.
The block is an engraved gift for brother and his wife, matching blocks with names engraved, surface ground to within .0002".

Just realized I dont have a pic of my V blocks or Angle block I surface ground, will snap pics of them tomorrow and slap into the main text.

Yup it started off as a 1.25" hex bar of bronze, I felt the hex shape gave it character, so kept the exterior and all i did was buff the rough finish off it, even leaving in the jaw marks.
Gave it a taper to bring it from hex to round, gave an inch or so of smooth diameter, then tapered again down to final diameter on the end. The pins it pivots on are pressed into the barrel, also has a bolt in the cart to adjust angle and has been knurled and hit with a torch to blue it up. Then slapped the cart together. Originally wanted a more oxidized look for the wheels via heating them but didnt turn out right, and made press fit axles into the cart that the wheels roll on.

Great job. I've done a bit of machining, but not anything that nice.

thanks, still very intro level for sure.

I actually went to a machine shop today because they have an opening. May forgo my welding classes this summer for a position since they arent required. Would give me a job for the summer full time, go to part time in the fall to finish my CNC class for my program, and then be available in December for full time.
