Looks like she did a nice job painting, good paint line.

You should have seen her first paint line. It looked like she was drunk while she painted the blue haha. She did a great job the second time around though.

Having my sisters baby shower here tonight so lots of work still left to do around the house tonight before having guests over.

Thanks Ed. Got tired of the ugly yellow/orange paint we had painted one of the spare bathrooms and decided to paint it brown today. Halfway done but have to make a run to lowes tomorrow for another brush and a second coat of paint.

We're actually about to head back to Lowes to buy stuff for our master bathroom remodel. Thinking about changing out the tile on floor and countertop and also replacing the shower wall tile with some natural stone/glass backsplash design. Also plan on taking out our huge wall mirror and replacing it with two smaller individual mirrors and adding either stone or glass/natural stone backsplash all along the wall to the ceiling. Including new paint for our bedroom and bathroom walls.

I'll post yard pics once I get around to mowing the grass in this damn heat! Haha

After a trip to lowes for tile and backsplash we came away empty handed.

Except for these other ideas we had for around the house

Got some more work done around the house.

Put up new ceiling light since old one messed up and kept flickering. Also put up new light fixture and patched up the two holes left on the wall from old fixture. Also took mirror out in pieces last night. Tomorrow I'll put up the new mirror and finish patching up the wall and painting. Also putting in the new medicine cabinet.

Also repainted the 2nd bathroom a clay color instead of the dark brown.
Also put up the new light fixture and patched holes. Tomorrow finish painting and new medicine cabinet goes up. Still need to find the mirror for this bathroom

Just a few more things left to do. Have some new faucets going in and also new light fixture for our master bathroom.

Looks great!
Thanks a lot cause after seeing me looking at this thread again last night my fiance was like "we need to get a list together of improvements we want to do, like new door knobs, painting, and I will think of more" lmao. I have a feeling I will be using Lowes as a second home

Haha. I still have ideas I want to do around the house. Last thing left for the kitchen/living room area is a new ceiling fan in the living room. We already changed out every light fixture and fan in the house since we moved in! Now if only I could win a $10,000 shopping spree at lowes I might finally be able to finish all my home improvement projects I have sitting inside my head haha

Finished with bathroom number one. New mirror and medicine cabinet went up and finished patching and painting the wall. Just need to replace the faucet with the new one and it will be done. Except for us thinking of taking down the tile piece along the wall and replacing it with a natural stone/glass tile combo backsplash

I love seeing all the work you two are doing together. Doing this work yourselves makes a house so much more, it makes it a real home.

Super job, Mike.

Thanks a lot Liz. It's been fun seeing the house transform the way it has over the year we've been here. Just finished up with the mirror and medicine cabinet install in the 2nd bathroom. Tomorrow I need to change the faucet and the ceiling light plus put up a shower curtain to hide the shower.

Everything looks great! How much did those medicine cabinets cost? I've been wanting to get some.

Except for us thinking of taking down the tile piece along the wall and replacing it with a natural stone/glass tile combo backsplash

If you are talking about the tile backsplash on the counter. I would highly advise you to just leave it like it is. It really won't look right. Trust me on this one.

Got the medicine cabinets ate 38 bucks each. Based on the amount of work you've done to your house and how good it looks I'm going to take your advice on the backsplash.

Anyone have any opinion on a good touchscreen programmable thermostat? We bought a real nice 6' long mirror during thanksgiving weekend and want to put it up on our living room wall. Problem is the damn ugly looking thermostat will end up being right under the mirror and will be an eyesore. I was looking online at lowes and home depot and found some nicer looking touchscreen thermostats. A couple had bad reviews about them though. Just wondering if any of you had one you'd recommend so I don't waste my time and money
