Mustang GT possible transmission?

I have a 2009 Mustang GT and was driving a little bit hard but not too bad and I was going into fifth gear then I saw the car red line for no reason and then I couldn’t put into gear. I’m not sure what to do. I don’t know if it’s a transmission or linkage or what. Please help

sounds like you need to look under the car ,, maybe a throw out bearing went , maybe a linkage came off or broke , maybe the eye lope at the clutch peddle broke .

any fluids leaking >?

No fluids leaked. but I will say my car had a whine to it in every gear. That had to do with the transmission right?

yes the whine could be the trans,, or the rear end ..
your trans syncro's could be fryed , a shifting fork messed up..
linkage broke or is bent..
your gonna have to get under the car and start looking

A whine could be transmission or rear end but if the transmission is showing the symptoms and you can't engage any gears of strongly lean towards it being the issue.

Sounds like shifter linkage to me.. like you went for 5th but it grabbed 3rd and now it is tweaked to where you can't get to anything at all. Just my guess..

Well if you did indeed grab 3rd when going for 5th that would explain "the car red line for no reason" part of your question.
