Anyone know who makes this transmission in China? Some people have problems with them and some don't. I know mine is hard to shift at first below 25 degrees. My Mustang stays in a heated garage set at 45 degrees so this is not much of a problem for me. As of Monday, these transmissions will cost 20% more with this Chinese Import Tax Ford Motor Company hates. Someone told me the transmission is being made by Mercedes Benz China.

The Mustang MT-82 is built by GRETAG .. in China.

.
and Gretag is owned by???? Do they make other parts??? Gretag makes German Photographic Equipment. I think Henry Ford and George Eastman were friends with Mercedes Benz.

Without a doubt the German Gretag company started in 1935 is connected to both Ford, Mercedes Benz and BMW and are made by a division of Mercedes Benz China in China.

It's Getrag, and their parent company is Magna International headquartered in Canada.

Yes Getrag and the Magna purchase in Canada was mid 2015 from Germany. Still made in China with the 20% tax starting Monday.

The topic is the History of the Getrag Transmission and maybe why Ford buys these from China to use in the 2019 Mustang GT and why Trump might want to tax it.

man, I get an email with most popular posts and one of them is one I made with NO replies... and we are pruning.

As far as chyna taking everyone's lunch, the result of that long game is a foregone conclusion.

I know how you feel about useless information on the Getrag Transmission made in China by Mercedes Benz China facility for the 2019 Ford Mustang GT.

Jiangxi is the state and Nanchang is the city. Not to far from Shanghai China and 10,000 miles from Shanghai West Virginia.

I think the idea is to make the Getrag with the grandchildren of the Great Migration to Detroit that Detroit Mayor Kavanuagh fought against years ago with Ford Whiz Kid Robert S McNamara.
