You don't have to per say, but to maintain bottle pressure it'll hit harder and assure you your power. There's a major difference in spraying a 75 shot with bottle pressure at 750psi that at 950-1000 psi. Given the design of the ZEX solenoids and them having trouble opening under too much pressure I'd stay as close to 950 as possible.
