I'm trying to determine why both Kimmer and I are having some belt issues with the Whipple and our 07's. The front timing cover is a different part number for 07 although all prior years supercede to the new number as well. I'm trying to determine what may be different. Both Kimmer and I have noticed that our belt likes to walk towards the cover. I have noticed the grooved idler on the driver side and the smooth idler have some play in them. If anyone has then time to remove these idlers and measure the mounting depth of the machined hub on the cover that the bearing race goes into I would appreciate it. On the 07 the bearing race for these pulleys only goes on the hub less than 1/2 way thus allowing some movement. I know I may be grasping at straws but if anyone has the time or their engine already apart I would appreciate the dimension so I can know if Ford changed these mounting points.
