Getting better, bro! You need drag radials and a stall BAD! Those two mods alone will probably get you into the 7s.

Can we say Christmas present

at least for the stall. with no more hp than I am running can I assume (and I know its not the best, but will work for a while) the TCI Streetfighter (3000) stall will be okay, not the best but will work for a while. Also at what rpm would you think a 3000 stall would start trying to push the car using foot brake only. I am very interested in an answer to this question.

Congrats, terry!

Don, you know how I have been fighting the "inconsistancies" with my car.

I have narrowed it down if not solved the issues. When I went to the track yesterday. I didn't make a run until probably 45 minutes after I got there. I filled out all my paper work, got something to eat (fat boys have to eat before drag racing) and watched a few cars run (first time I had been to this track Texas Speedway in Kennedale, Tx.) . My first run was against a little fox body gt. After I waw that I was beating pretty badly (right before the et cones) I just let completely off the throttle and still ran an 8.51, I went right back around anthe the next pass I ran WOT all the through and ran an 8.60.

 hmmmm cool car, run fast, hot car not run so fast. Just before I left I made a pass and this was after the car had been setting for and hour. This is when I ran my best ever (8.41). I know you cut the bottom out of your Shaker, but since heat has such a drastic affect on my car, I am thinking about going to the Cobra type heat evacuator (I guess that what you call them) hood, or some type of vented hood. my concern with cutting the bottom out of the shake is all the road grime that would be blown on to the motor it self. What do you think about maybe putting some type of filter over the opening, something that would flow like maybe a stocking.

just for the record

Guess what, you can buy a printer, scanner etc for less than you can buy ink cartridges. my MFC would install due to low ink cartridges. I went to Circuit City and they had a much newer unit than I had for $10 less than a full compliment of ink carts. I did check on refills and they are the same kind/price as old MFC

The best thing I have found for cooling a car off is an eH2O pump, and a manual switch for the radiator fan. It will pull the temps down about 40 degrees in a matter of minutes (key on, engine off). Running the heater on full blast would work too if you didn't have the fan switch. But makes ure you don't do it too long, it tends to drain the battery.
