So an update for you guys, I took pics last night for the appraisal (took a while because I have been working late every night) and they call me today to say in mass anything over 1500 in damages has to be appraised in person, so they are sending someone to my work on Tuesday. Let's cross our fingers for big money!

Get the money, fix it cheap and sell it. I drove a Ford ST last weekend. Pretty fun daily driver and peppy too. I dunno how Vert Brian was "too fat" to fit in the Recaro's. Dealership told me they wanted 3K over sticker, told him to GTFO. He called today and their price wasn't so ridiculous. Still a Focus though sadface

Not selling it!!!!! Damage isn't bad, just a good opportunity to do some cosmetic upgrades!

I just was not comfortable at all. Maybe after a test drive they would of molded a bit. I get x-plan pricing so the ST2 package they had was $27k. Sorry, hard to swallow for a focus. Maybe I'll pick up a used one in a year or so.

Kevin, be careful with a "take the money and run" concept. A buddy of mine has owned a body shop for 20+ years. The insurance companies have come to the conclusion that in todays economy, 60% of people will just take the money, and not fix their cars. Because of this, when that appraiser comes to look at your car, guess who he works for? The insurance company.

Therefore, if they feel you are a take the money kind of person, they are going to write the appraisal for 50-70% of what the ACTUAL damage is. This is the biggest scam in the world...

Vert Brian, you already got rid of your wrx, right?

Correct!

Right, but the problem is if you just take the money you go off of what the insurance guy says, not what the body shop says.

Obviously since you're getting it fixed it doesnt matter. It just takes more time because the insurance guy will write a shitty estimate, then the body shop has to fight for a day or so to get the right parts. Its just a pain. Went through this with the WRX

Need your help boys. I either need my car sold real quick like, or its coming down to a de-mod party than trade in. I'll sell the car as it sits for a good price if you know anyone.

De-mod party? Would you try and find a stock longblock to swap in?

I'll ask around and see if I get any leads.

Trading in for anything cool? Or going super boring like me and getting a corolla :p?

Not sure what I want yet. Storing a vehicle for winter is too much for me right now. I can build another mustang again later on.

By the way, I know there's a lot of you guys already sub'd to this thread so I wanna mention it here too ... there's a car show coming up, set up via NEMC (New England Mopar Club), a club I'm still a member of since I owned a 2007 Charger up until recently.

It's set up for Toys 4 Tots, on Sunday 11-18-2012 from 10 AM, in Manchester CT.

I posted a separate thread here but so far no replies : http://www.s197forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92283

Hope to maybe see some of you there.

Nobody replied to this or about this ... Hope some of you saw it and plan on being there ...

It's this Sunday and for a great cause ... we raised about $500 for toys last year ... had a bunch of carriages full of toys at the end of the get-together.

The US Marine Corps comes by and picks them up from that Toys R Us and distributes them out.

I usually don't bring toys but donate cash, which works just as well, since the cash raised is used the same day to go buy toys and put in the carts.

I think my GF and I will be leaving Derry area around 7:30 AM ... in case anybody wants to caravan down, PM me and we can swap cell #'s ... I'm a texting fiend, second only to my GF ... LOL (it's because of HER that I have unlimited texting on my account LMAO)

Have you thought about Ebay? At least then you would reach a bunch of people where the car could be driven 12 months out of the year, instead of 5.

I'd try Ebay man. The amount of views it will have are going to go WAY beyond a couple forum classifieds.

Just a thought.
