New Meguiars Products.... Amazing!!!

Plus its driven maybe twice week and never sees rain, so 2-3 months in between I thought I should be safe..I had Jeremy from Meguiar's(he is a pro when it comes to paint) give my car an overhaul last September. He is having an all day hands on seminar for a small group of us members/sponsors for lmmc-ct.com this Sunday. I want to learn about paint, and how to take care of it properly. I cant wait to learn this stuff..

Driving around in other peoples' cars gives me insight into how little most people care about keeping their cars clean (inside and out). Sometimes I feel like I need a shower after driving some.

haha very true, i mean i live out of my car like a lot of people but at the same time if you spend the 5 minutes everyday to just make sure its good to go it will save a lot of time in the long run. +1 on the shower part, especially for someone like me who is as anal as it can be when it comes to being clean in general. I might have a slight ocd issue HA

OO i want to go, i missed them (meguiars guys) when they came down for detailfest last month. I missed the event entirely and was royaly pissed. Secondly that is the best way to ever learn, from a dedicated pro. I try to share what limited knowledge i have to anyone and everyone that is willing to learn but there is just so much. So many different paints, clears, methods and what not that is always a constant struggle to stay on top. Those are the guys that will know it all. All i can do is hope you come back and share that knowledge alittle bit more with all of us.

I will definitely let you know how it goes..He started on my car @ 9:00 am and finished at about 7:00 that night. The car looked unbelievable..There was a big trade show in Mass a couple weeks ago, and he used my car for display and to do presentations on. Chip foose was there and gave the ole Gotham GT a thumbs up..lol..But I cant always rely on him to do my car, I have to learn it myself..Jeremy is a forum sponsor for our club, so he is always available for pointers..

Yeah, when you move into that side of detailing which is actually considered more of paint correction you start spending 10+ hours to a car. Between wet sanding, paint touch up/blending, and compounding it can take quite a while.

It definitely is a learning experience, but you got the right guy to learn from. With a proper teacher you be shocked at how fast you can actually pick it up. Don't fear the buffer is all, most people do ha. It is one of those things you have to do though to actually get a feel for so, but like many people will say go to a body shop/ junkyard get some scrap parts and practice. i actually got money for one hood i did from a shop cause the owner sold it off. (awesome)

OK, man did I learn alot today..Skeeter, it didnt end till 2:30, I would have gotten to MU at 4:00..I was looking forward to seeing Lucifer too!! Spring cruise May 17th, hope you can make it. I will PM you a meeting point.

This was a hands on seminar given by Jeremy, who is a long time Meguiars rep..Man knows his shit. It will be impossible to put in writing everything I learned today. I dont need 18 different waxes and polishes..3 actually..Learned how to wet sand properly, learned tha using wool with a highspeed buffer is a great thing, and not to be scared of hurting the paint with it. Removing scratches and imperfections the right way. What different buffing pads will do, etc..I cant wait for my car to get dirty enough to start from scratch and aplly what I learned..

Skeeter, wanted to get there today, but this seminar was invaluable..

Yup like you said you don't need 18 different things normally you can get away with 2 but not on our cars. Heavy to Medium to LSP (last step product.) and +1 about the buffer comment, don't be scared of it (ha) . ill have to get in touch with you more about his tips for complete scratch removal i can wetsand small stuff out but never tried super big ones at all, secondly did he go over paint touch up at and blending it afterwards. talked a little about deep scratches, and the same rule applied to that as well. Use the product with the least amount of paint removal, and scale down from there..

I will put you on the list Steve..Our initial meeting point will prolly be Dunkin Doughnuts off exit 48 on 91 south..The list is already getting large, hoping for at least 100 +..
