L.A. Auto Show: Shelby American relaunches Shelby GT Mustangs

http://www.latimes.com/business/aut...-debut-20131121,0,4163355.story#ixzz2lOLMDmfH

The hot-rod maker that bears the name of late automotive icon Carroll Shelby announced it is bringing back Shelby GT Mustangs after a five-year hiatus.
Shelby American Inc. announced its plans to build the car, which is based on Ford Mustang GT, on Thursday at the L.A. Auto Show.
“The Shelby GT was one of the most important vehicles in modern-day Shelby history,” said John Luft, president of Shelby American. “It kicked off Shelby’s rebirth in Las Vegas by putting a Mustang-based small block car into Ford dealerships. Ever since the Shelby GT went out of production, people have clamored for its return.”

I saw this yesterday. I dig they brought it back too. I am not a fan of the front bumper though, same one they use on the GT350, GTS, etc, etc.

I like it but is this just going to be for 2014, or are they gonna do this with the S550 too?

So they are going to produce this for 3-4 months until the 2015 goes on sale in the spring? This article needed to come out a year ago.

Sure as hell better be better build quality than the 07/08 Shelby GT's. So many of those had very shoddy striping, hood scoops, grillwork, etc. We sold several new '07's and just a couple new '08's at the dealership I work for. Lots of rework was needed and SAI wasn't always helpful fixing things. Looking at used 07/08's now that have any miles on them, I realize that they look nice from 20 feet away, but up close the workmanship looks horrible. Sorry, Shelby, way too much money for a subpar product. The best built "Shelbys" come from Flat Rock, not Las Vegas.

Third the meh. $45k for an intake/tune Mustang GT with a body kit.. and that's probably with the bare-bones interior.

Shelby American pulled the wraps off the 2014 Shelby GT earlier today, bringing back the model that was an official Ford model back in 2007 and 2008 and marking the first time the company has introduced a vehicle at the LA Auto Show. This time around the entry-level Shelby is a post-title package, meaning owners will have to send their Mustangs to Shelby’s facility in Las Vegas themselves for the conversion.
The $14,995 package price includes a new front fascia and grille, hood, Ford Racing suspension, Shelby branded exhaust, intake and engine tune for 430 horsepower, specially designed wheels and tires, short shifter, hood and Le Mans stripes. A supercharged version, dubbed the GT/SC (pictured), tags on another $13,000 and offers 550 horsepower, and a 624 horsepower version is on the option list as well. Other options, including a cooling package, watts-link system and caster/camber plates are also available.

Both of them look pretty darn good to me.

But ..........

I'll just continue to hang onto my Ole 2008 Bullitt Mustang. :thumb2:

Broke dafuk down
so.... for an extra $28K you get a 550hp 5.0? Oh.. yeah warranty right? You can build a motor and throw some FI at it, make way more power and have plenty left over for gas and tires.. probably another motor too

probably comes with a shitty heatexchanger and pump to boot

agree.. i like the stock 5.0 look over this anyway
