hey all, I just purchased a 2012 5.0 and have been searching and reading and searching about all the little knick knack problems these cars may or may not have, what I can't figure out is the cylinder #8 thing, it seems from what I've read the MT-82 and clutch complaints are as good as they are gonna get by now (my build date is 01/12 I believe) but I can't tell if the cylinder #8 thing was just a 2011 issue? or did it make its way to the 2012's as well? is this a big enough issue to be very concerned about?

sorry for the rant, any information from all you mustang guru's would be much appreciated

The '#8 Issue' was a problem only on cars that had been tuned outside of Ford. It is my understanding that the tuning issues had a common denominator in that the 'knock sensors' were tampered with. Correct me if i'm wrong here guys. There should not be an issue with your car due to the R&D that the aftermarket put into their remote tuning after the screw ups.

The other thing you need to know is if you do pop your motor (#8) and your car was tuned, Ford will deny warranty.

well I didn't plan on tuning for quite a while, I was just planning on a roush intake (no tune required one) and some axle backs, I just didn't quite understand all the cylinder #8 talk, appreciate all the info guys! I must say this is a great website as far as info and tech and all that jazz, really top notch!
