Currently have NT01s but only a couple of days left. Looking at several alternatives discussed on the forum but have not seen (or found via search) any comments on the 555R11 which is supposedly a road track tire designed for Muscle cars. Anyone have any experience with these?

I've tried using them in the past and was not happy what so ever with them.. just a poor tire imo. And if your coming from an NT01 you wouldn't be happy really with them I think.. lol

I have used the 555RII in the past. I found it to be identical in feel and lap times to the RA1. Actually a little quicker when new and unshaved that an unshaved RA1. Go figure, since it is the same carcass and tire compound, but with a different tread pattern.

I've used 555RII quite a bit and was very happy with them - for a dual purpose tire IMO they are awesome. They are not R-comps on the level of Hoosier's or Kumo's, etc though. I've used NT-01 a lot also (in fact its the tire I've used more than any others). For strictly track work, I'd take the NT-01. For a streetable track tire I'd take the 555RII. Note you can certainly run the NT-01 on the street but they seem to wear a little quicker and aren't as good in slick conditions.

Especially when they just have the two longitudinal grooves :)
