Problem with Redline is that it is a synthetic oil. Truetrac's are designed to use dino oil, and there is a good number of people having various problems when running synthetic (premature wear, noises, slippage, etc.). It is kind of a crap shoot if nothing bad happens at all actually as there are a couple who have run Royal Purple with no issues (though those people just DD the car). I run mainly Autocross's/HPDE's and DD the car.

I put Lucas in mine when I installed the Truetrac a couple years ago. Many many trips to the drag strip and it's never given me a peep or hint of an issue. The Lucas was so thick it was like trying to ladle cold bacon grease into the differential.

I thought about Lucas too, but the main question is the 85w-140 dino that both Lucas and Torco offer. Would it be too much weight for our cars? I do live in west TN where the summers hit the 100's. Would it be better than the 80w-90? I don't hear of a lot of people using that weight, most use 80w-90 for dino, 75w-140 for synthetic.

The thicker lube is better in high heat situations IMO. It gets kinda hot here as well. You do need to let it warm up a little before pushing it hard. I drive real easy until the engine is up to temp, by that time the rear is also warmed up a bit.
