My 2007 Whipple GT has a squeaky/whiny noise coming from the rear. It started after I inadvertently downshifted too low when I realized someone was coming into my lane and wheel hopped the rear tires. It started as a creaking noise, and now is more like a rearend whine. It always there and varies with the speed of the car. It seems worst on coast than acceleration and almost feels like the car is galloping now. I have inspected underneath, turned to tires and driveshaft until I was blue in the face. The ring and pinion feels smooth, and the driveshafts look normal. I even put it on jackstands and ran it at idle and no noise! I did find fluid leaking from my propeller shaft CV so I dropped it (not from the pinion seal). It feels ok and not crunchy, but it is pushing out grease everywhere from the weep hole (see picture). Does that mean it has internally failed? Any help would be greatly appreciated before I have to call a wrecker and have it hauled to a shop.
