I guess during that episode you forgot the english language and were unable to comprehend the fact that they did it because the car is called the gt 500. Which is perfectly right and entertaining. If you get butthurt over that, it's pathetic.

They centered a whole segment around that fact, and the truth was that they had no idea what they were doing. Spreading incorrect information gets me butthurt, sure. I would have no issue with it if it was true. If they dynoed a 350z and said it is underpowered without mentioning the drive-train loss, I would still think that they were ignorant. The show is entertaining, but that's it.

edit: I'm not going to derail this thread any further. If you can't handle other people's opinions, then that's your problem. I could care less.

I don't understand your example, because they actually do road test cars and discuss it's handling abilities, but your example is like pointing out that they also stuck a cows head in james may's car.

And the v6 has an aluminum engine btw it's very light, fully dressed, I can lift it. The vert is outfitted with subframe connectors, And since it's a v6 the rear end weighs less(7.5) with different rear springs, the transmission is smaller, has half the exhaust system(makes a difference trust me), and that's all I can think of currently.

Ummmm, I'm sorry to say, but you are incorrect. The V-6 only became aluminum blocked in 2011.. older cars have an iron block and iron heads too. As for you lifting a fully dressed example: I don't know you, maybe you are an Olympic Powerlifter, but otherwise (and maybe even then) I can't see that happening. I know an all aluminum 5.0 (same engine family as the 3.7) weighs in @ 444 lbs. Even if you took a full 1/4 of that number away, the V-6 would still ring in at around 335 pounds.....

The '11 Transmission is the same as the V-8 cars. The older cars also had a similar sized 5-speed vs. the older GT. Yes, the older GT's had a TR3650 vs. a T5, and the T-5 was a little smaller, but not very much. The rear end is lighter, by a little bit but that's not why the springs are softer--rear axles are unsprung weight. :)

As for Top-Gear, I don't know what to say. They do no instrumented testing. They slide around sideways everywhere. Compare cars on time only on a track that certainly favors POWER. For that matter if they test a car in the rain the only put a (W) behind it's time, which isn't exactly a fair comparison. You see no tangible results. I like Top Gear (the UK version) a lot, watch it all the time--but for fun. Days of Our Lives would be about as accurate of a true "road test" show as Top Gear is. Hell, Motorweek is a lot better for information. You see how the cars accelerate, stop, transition, and sometimes run laps on a road-course *NOT* being driven sideways.

I'm not saying they(Top Gear) doesn't have good points about American cars but they are biases towards them. The one episode it was a stock v6(the 210hp) vs I think a real horse and they kept calling it a GT and referring to how slow the car was for having 300hp. Another episode they took a supercharged lotus and put it against a stock GT (A real GT). WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT OF THAT? Lotus is like double the money. Ford never built the GT is go against cars like a SC lotus. But anyway...

I actual like the set up of the mustang lower front vs the rear. I think it gives it that muscle car look. So I'd image I like the setup of the h/r springs w/ lowering the front an inch & the rear .75
