yeah it is just my opinion and while it wasn't a stab at you personally now it might as well be... who gives a damn about tearing a apart a Shelby... not this guy... building is always better than buying... what kind of bragging rights is that to have. "I bought a RACE CAR, and won a race..." now wouldn't that be a bit expected... IN MY BOOK... JUST MY BOOK... thats not as good as saying. "I BUILT a fast street car and won a race..."

And like I said the CJ is cool in its own right, every fast car is, but in a street car class how the hell can you claim such a victory just cause you bought a way into it... Build a fast Shelby to do it or build a fast GT to do then thats a different story...

I am talking about a street car class only here...

I didn't try to burn anyone and I am usually the peaceful one to get along with everyone but who the hell are you and how the hell do you matter to anyone? The past builds are great but I am talking about buying your way into winning racing races in this street car class...

The street car class hits home for me with people who build race cars to race people who try to build fast street cars for the street class then claim all these wins and think its such a huge victory...:beerchug2:

I got the car to race. You bitch because I race the car and I bitch about people that bought them, put them in bubbles in garages and will never make a single F*#&ing pass in them. Now those are the people that don't deserve the cars.

I could have built a car, but I did that once. I have a Fox-body I built from STOCK to a 10 teens car. I run True Street with it. It's a street car that I use to drive all the time.

We sold a total of 15 cars. We didn't make a dime over asking price. I know of at least 5 that are racing or are going to race. The rest are bubble babies. I makes me sad to think Ford Racing spent all this money on R&D only to have the cars sit.

What victory am I claiming? I finished "RUNNER UP" in SST. I was real lucky.

Oh and it's not just a street car class. If it were Jim would have made plates and insurance a rule, which it's not.

I'm not looking to change SST to a RACECAR class, I'm looking to show YOU guys what Ford Racing is building for the future. 85% of the parts on my car are for sale in the FRPP catalog. This car was designed, built and sold to bring attention to Ford Racing's 1320 program.

Brian Wolfe is a drag racer and is the head of Ford Racing. The last guy was a road course guy, which isn't bad. Most Mustang guys are going straight instead of turning left and right. Like me, I only like to brake and turn right once(on the return road).

FYI. Did you know the Mustang is the second most modified vehicle in the US. Guess what is first..........................Pick-up trucks. Think about that, our cars rank #2 behind ALL pick-up trucks. That's impressive in my book.

Ya know? Instead of being Jealous because he has the means and support of ford that allowed him to be able to purchase the car. Why not support him and say hey man cool car! Its nice to see Ford stepping up like they did back in the muscle car days and offering factory built cars like the old Cobra Jets and A/FX mustangs.

The first thing I said when Matt made his announcement that he bought one was "congratulations, Thats Awesome!" A piece of living history!!

Can I afford on right now? at this point no. (Divorce is a bitch LOL) but, the 10's are on their way.................

How much does one of the Cobra Jet cars go for? If I got one, I would be racing it any chance I got.

That's the problem there isn't any way for regular guys to have gotten one of these cars. You had to have an in with Ford to get one and I agree with Matt it's a shame when they become bubble queens. I think it should have been a requirement from Ford that the car be raced, not stored as an investment, for it to be purchased.

Now who are you?

SD you must be OUTSIDE YO MIND!!! I'll be hang'n the wheels and bang'n the gears pass that turbo slug. I just hope you can turn the boost controller up enough to make it a race :D

Ummm can you help me out, I know what SD's accomplishments are, and I knew that before coming to this board. What is your name and your claim to fame. Not trying to be an ass, I just have honestly not ever heard of you. Again, just curious.

I can order you a 2010 right now. There are still some available. The 08's were available to any regular guy as well but they sold out in short order. The '10's have an aluminum block option along with some other options over the 08's. Should be interesting.

I was talking with a friend of mine from GEF Racing yesterday and he was talking "$70K-ish" (hell yeah.....70K :beerdrink: ). They really don't know the bottom line yet due to Ford not having their pricing established yet. As mentioned, there is the aluminum block option which would be well worth the additional charge. He actually dared me to find a sponsor for one of them since he has three reserved for GEF.

Earl....if you've got the coin I can get us one! Not sure how FRPP would like a twin turbo Cobra Jet but between the two of us we could get it done!

Depends on who you bought it from. We charge the FRPP asking price $69,500 for non-graphic cars and $71,000 for the graphic cars.

Not really. If you would have called and put a deposit down, you would be an owner.

My name is Matt Stanford. I'm just a car salesmen @ Varsity Ford in Michigan. No claim to fame.

Tell me about it. They keep running the damn Hybrid commericals. We have sold about 8 Fusion and Escapes in the last week. I could sell one a day if we had the stock. I will say I'd rather be a Ford dealer than any other brand these days.
