That is what I figured. But how do you make sure the mixture does not ignite before entering the cylinder? Would it ever get hot enough in the s/c to do that? Ever? I would think not, seeing how the max intake air temp I have data-logged are at a maximum of 156 degrees.
I have been trying to figure out what happened on my mishap, and the only thing I can think of is that something caused the intake valve to hang open, so the combustion in the cylinder traveled past the intake valve into the intake manifold, then BOOM!
