Well....I made the online purchase yesterday w/ the 10% discount code I received in an email.

The total rang out to be $5506. I paid the total and about 6hrs later got a message on the phone that there was a mistake w pricing.

I spoke to the parts guy who said that the person responsible for the internet site had not been updating the site properly. That was the price for the 500hp Gen1 kit (from over 1 yr ago), and they WILL NOT honor the price. He did say he would come down to $6595 or possibly $6495 (their cost?).....

I asked to speak to the manager who will be in sometime today. So we will see???????????????

I am willing to work w/ them for THEIR Mistake, BUT I just don't know how much ground I have to stand on to demand a price closer to what they had advertised....

Anyone have any input??????
Thanx again

I can't believe their online pricing was so old! Seems someone would have picked up on that a while ago, or they are trying the old bait and switch.

All you can do is ask. I can't believe how much the prices have gone up on these, especially in this economy. I got my 550 kit for my 2008 for $5170, shipped.

where was this? I doubt they would have a price that out of date, sounds like a "bait and switch" or something? if the price is that out of date, maybe their products are too, maybe it's a gen 1?

Lol....I thought of that also. But it sounded like they won't honor that price either.....From what I have found dealer cost. Is $6295 for Blk & $6495 for polished.Waiting to speak to the manager today to see what he will do.I have a feelin he is going to offer cost or $100 over..........Just sucks that is $1000 more than what they advertised & I paid......

If it was me, and they refused to honour the price, I would tell them to poke it where the sun don't shine, demand my money back and go buy a Roush TVS. JMO...

BTW, over here in the UK, if an item is advertised at a price, by law they HAVE TO honour that price, regardless of how big a mistake it is. (I know this doesn't help you any...)

Andy.

Lobe... the vids you see of the e-forces making 422-460 rwhp are because they are running less boost than the whipple HO kit which puts out 11-12 psi boost. An e-force making 422 is the standard kit w/ 5-7 psi. The 460 rwhp on manual is the 3.5 pulley making 7-9 psi. My auto on 3.25 pulley (same pulley as whipple HO uses) does 9-11 psi and put down 475 rwhp on an auto... which would easily be 500+ on manual...so there appears to be no real hp advantage over the e-force with the whipple.

Here is video of my install and dyno run making 475 rwhp...

Who will be doing your install and tune?

Sorry comment was not for you all.....it was in response to the "Don't care for Whipple" comment.

I was just really trying to ask if there was a way to tell a GEN 1 & 2 apart???

I just got the '07 550hp kit, and I don't know if it is a gen 1 or 2 either. For practical purposes I don't think it matters. When you get the kit you can take the serial number of the blower and call whipple, they should be able to tell you.

If its a new whipple it will be the Gen. 2 head unit. The only way to tell if its the Gen 2 is by the stamp on the supercharger. As long as this company has not had it sitting on the shelf for two years it will be the Gen 2. I have had my whipple now for over a year and it is the Gen 2 compressor, I see a consistent 11psi of boost out of mine. Sorry this isn't much help, I don't have my car at work to get the numbers off the compressor to identify that its a Gen 2.

It should be here Tuesday :)

They worked w the price some , so I can't complain. And hooked me up w the Ford Racing gauges for $185 ea. So the total was just under $6800 for the polished kit w gauges, shipped.

Can't wait to INSTALL :) :) :)

If you check in your whipple paper work, the check list will tell you what GEN whipple you have. Mine is a GEN1 with the W140AX SC Assembly with 3.5 pulley and the compressor #4120. Identifies mine as GEN1, GEN2 came with a W200AX I believe, I could be wrong on that number but the difference between the 2 is really just the Pulley,Rotor change and they fixed the oil leak issue. Leaking from the snout that is, mine has done it since day 1. But pretty much are identical and perform close to the same. Mine put down 504 horsepower on a 3.5 pulley at 10 pounds of boost. I bought the 500 H.O kit.
