Just ordered the white strip inserts and the white lettering inserts from emblem pros. Decided not to do the thin outline inserts, just looked like to much with all of them. Just wanted something to accent the coil covers and tie it all together a little. I'll post pics when I get them.

The reason oem covers are not painted would be more likely that they would not benefit any from doing so. They would have to have a seperate lines for each individual color of coil covers and it would cost millions without any return for doing so. The boss 302 ones are ford blue mixed into the plastic. Not painted because they just use the same mold with a different mix why set up a paint line and spend millions on robots.

I dont know who did the peeling covers but automotive clear coat can handle over 400 degrees without any issues if your under hood temps are over 400 degrees you have a very serious issue. A car sitting in the California sun for hours would have paint peeling in no time if that were the cause. Prep and material used determines how long they will last. The cleaning and scuffing method and another extremely key factor is what primer is used.

It's not the temps ONLY, it is the oil residue that sits on top of the covers and bakes in. That will eat through the clear over time. And as you well know, it only takes one small (even mm) section to get eaten through to start the peeling process. In 2 years, I have only had one set of covers returned, and that was because of some solvent that was dripped on the covers..the buyer denied it but I could tell by the type of damage on that that is what it was...he held my hostage through Ebay feedback so I went and redid them. Other than that they have lasted so far, and the techniques I have used this past year are even better than when I first started.

Did he mess them up right after receiving them. If he left you bad feedback 2 years later you would be able to dispute it. If gas were to get on them and continuously get on them it would cause problems. If there was an issue with painting things under the hood engine bays would not come painted as they would start flaking off most people never clean under the hood in the lifetime of there car and the paint holds up. The key to any proper job would be proper prep and material.

It was about 6 weeks later, and when he sent them back, I could tell by the type of damage it was a solvent. (oh and that was the only set I ever sold where they complained..prep was no different.

Agree 100% that prep and materials is most of the importance:thumb:

Thanks glad you like them

Like them? I'm dead serious when I say they exceeded my expectations!! I KNOW the work that had to have gone into these to make them THIS shiney ALL OVER!!!

How you got those small crevices, letters, and lines super shiney is beyond me but THIS is the stuff I put on MY car!!!!!!!:hi::thumb:

BleedinBlue I typically make things to order. I have an ebay account but rarely use it. Think I have come radiator extensions on there and thats it. Hell had a z06 spoiler on there the other day guy buys it from california had listed as standard shipping 6 to 10 days to california from indiana. He received it in 4 days after payment sent. Left me a neutral feedback saying nice product but slow shipping.
