I've put up with this annoying noise/vibration long enough. The parking brake vibrates an annoying noise between 1500-2000 rpms at times. If I rest my hand on the handle it dampens the noise and it goes away. It's been getting worse. I did the little trick about the clamps around exhaust hanger insulators and that did nothing. It seemed like it started around the time of the hurst shifter/alum. d.s installation. I used the search function with no help.

Are you sure the noise is not originating from the shifter? I have a Hurst Billet shifter, and it rattles like a bitch at times.

Well, the shifter ball is not rattling like most other people I hear complaining. The noise doesn't stop when my hand is on the shifter, only stops when my hand is resting on the parking brake. All the bolts to the parking brake are tight also.

Is it working properly? As in, is there any free play in the travel of the handle when you first pull it up?

Well, if you can't track it down, you could always pull the console off, and take it for a test drive... see if you can pinpoint the rattle better with the console removed. Not a big job to pull the console off these cars.

The park brake handles are known to rattle. It's the plastic cover usually. you can the cover off and install something like dynomat, or something else, then install back the covers and it will eliminate the noise.
