Hey folks. Currently running a stock 3.4 pully on the Paxton Novi 2200SL. Made about 10 lbs. I will be Installing long tube headers and off-road H pipe which should drop the boost a few lbs from what I've read. I am thinking of dropping to a 3.3 pully at the same time but I am curious as too how much boost or HP increase will come from it. I know the stock internals are limited and I don't want to be too greedy. Any Ideas?

There are more variables involved. Are you running the stock cam? What are your HP and torque numbers now? Do you have an intercooler? Most importantly, who did the tuning?

Thanks for the reply. Stock cams, air to air intercooler, and tuned by Lito. Not sure what Dyno numbers are, but probably similar to what most are getting with a stock Lito tuned Novi 2200SL? I am guessing 450? I know it's faster than a 2019 with a CAI and Borla full exhaust but it has not been on a dyno

IMHO, I think you are maxed out on boost. Install the headers and see what happens. Lito can give some good advice once he sees the numbers. I'm at 9-10 pounds also, but with a Edelbrock. Lito did not tune it to the max to be safe. You can always add the pulley later.

Thank you, good advice. I was just trying to see if somebody else had done that. So I don't have to pay for a tune now when the headers and exhaust or added and then pay for another one down the road with the pully change, figured I would get it all done at once. But I like your advice probably will follow it.

The long tubes should add to whatever torque number you're making right now despite maybe reducing your boost gauge reading slightly.
Manifold pressure isn't what breaks the stock rods, torque production and detonation are. You're already close to the safe limit of the stock bottom end. Maybe you can safely get another 50 HP, maybe you blow it up with another 10. You just have to decide if you're willing to take that risk.
If you really want to go significantly past that 450 RWHP / 450 ft.lbs. mark, I would suggest skipping the exhaust mods for now and putting that $$ towards a built short block and trans. You can force 600 HP through the stock exhaust. It's definitely a bottleneck at that level but it won't break anything.

Because it has not been dynoed yet, and because I really only beat on it occasionally, (I'm 65 and heading for retirement so $$$ when it breaks is an issue) I'm gonna proceed with exhaust upgrades but forget about the pulley for now.
