Not my s197, but my '94 cobra. Anyone know how much this would run me? It has a few dings in it and the paint it has now has a few chips, and stress lines around the plastics. What would it cost to repaint the whole car. And im not talking about a shoddy maco job, probably a decent job from someone who knows what they are doing and a job that wont chip when a bug hits the front.

for a good paint job it will run you anywhere from about 4k to 8k depending on how much work goes into makin the body straight again prepping it etc, etc.. but thats a pretty close estimate

lol if your lucky you might be able to find someone to do it for around 3k but thats with you doing most of the body work but they might prep it and paint it for that. for a good paint job, painters will pull the whole interior out and pant it like that so they get every inch of the car and do a good job i think thats why they charge so much

Yea im not wanting that good of a job. I just want the sideskirts off, bumpers off, hood off, trunk off, engine taped, interior taped, windows taped off, and painted like that.

And if they do want all that crap taken off and then some i can do it myself, i've had that car torn apart basically to the shell and put it back together by myself so its no big deal... I know every single inch of the car, haha... LITERALLY ...

Depending on how far you are from here and how far your willing to drive, I know a few people up here you could call. Won't be the cheapest you can find but I can speak for their work.

I just got my car out of the body shop due to hail damage and they replaced the hood and decklid and pulled some dent out of the doors and repainted an this was done at a ford dealership and the bill was $4200 if this is anykind of guide for you.

whats going to get you is the labor thats put into getting the car ready for paint and then it takes (a good painter) about 2 days usually to paint a car and then you have to think about the time they put back into it putting the car back together

honestly dude it ll depends on who paints your car... if you wan chip foose to paint it... well then you know the story... empty out your bank account.

I figure for a paint job that just the outside of the car.... no detail work.... figure 2k depending on what kind of paint and color you want.... again this will just be a nice basic paint job that will 'refresh' the car.... my freind just got his 98 GT painted and it was a basic paint job that ran him $2300. IMO if you ever decide to sell the car it isnt something that is worth doing dude.... so really think hard before forking out the dough to do this as you will never get the money for the paint job back ever.... if you know the car is going with you to your grave then sure go ahead and do it.

go check out Paul at SVP unlimited in odenville, from what I've seen he's done some fantastic paint jobs. But with most things, you get what you pay for, and paints not one of the things you want to skimp on.

Oh yea, they're awesome. I visit all the time, try to atleast once a month to see whats goin on and how things are goin. Him and Jason do crazy good work but they are not on a production time factor. They take their time, LOL. And getting to my pissy '94 cobra would be low priority with all of the projects they got goin on. I would love for them to do my car and i know they would do a great job but i know they got lots goin on.

yeah, from what I hear they're always staying busy, that's a good sign of business, especially in this economy!
