4.10's will def help you get into your power band faster.

I have a twin screw supercharger and 4.10s and I can tell you that on street (stock GT spec tires) I have 0 traction. Nittos will help that though.

From what I have heard the best gears to with a street SC'ed car are 3.73's.... 4.10's might be too much unless your race/weekend only car.

Previous to the turbo build, we had a P1SC with 4:10 gears on this vehicle. Car also had the stock 5 speed back then. First gear was useless and traction with Nittos was not impressive.

^ I would of thought 4.10s would of been great for a procharger since it helps get you to the higher RPMs quicker and then let the procharger take over from there

4:10's are fine until you start to turn it up a bit. I would say if you're to stay around 10-12psi boost 4:10's are great ever for a daily drive.

I've turned mine up to 18psi, and now I find 4:10's too much gear, and I will be going back to 3:73's soon.

Your transmission, tire size, wants, needs, and future plans all play a part in choosing the right gear.

I have 3.90's and first gear is just about useless as well. I love my 3.90's though they work good with a nice set of tires. 4.10's can be a bit much ive heard.

I ran 4.10s on my for a while on street and track fine.

you might be right about 4.10s and higher power levels. But I dont know if I can blame my 2.0-2.2 60' on that or my shity ass driving. All I know is that I can have 600rwhp and still not break into 11's.. hahha

I had 4:10 gears for awhile but it was to much gear for me (auto ) . 1st was imposible and when I did get any traction it would hit 2nd and kick out right pretty hard . This was with 500 rwhp. I have had 3:73 gears since then and love them.

I think 4:10's and a centry blown auto are perfect..It does wind out pretty quick on the highway though, but at the track its perfect. If was starting over, I would have went with 4:30's +..

With an auto ?

EDIT : I guess I did like my 4;10s at 450 rw but not so much at 500 . I know for sure I would not like them now . I guess it depends on the hp level and personal preffences. They were fun at 425 - 450 on the street .

I agree even though I have a stick car, I wish I went with 4.30's since I am running a 28" tire but that's hindsight. If I did it all over again I would get a 9" and be able to swap gears easily but I have too much money in the rearend to change my mind now.
