Dream07, thanks for that. You are absolutely correct about Ford's self-taping ones. The powdercoater removed them when blasting them and left them off for me to put back on. I broke 3-4 of them and they were stuck in there. I left them be and then I started having nightmares that they would eventually work their way out. Better safe than paying for a new engine. I'll swing by Home Depot on the way to the shop on Saturday and find something comparable.

When I start it up it will be a shop event. They'll all be watching and monitoring since everyone has been so excited about this entire project. I'm hoping the OBDII cord for the gauges will arrive by then, but if not I suppose I'll be fine.

BTW, Just got the new tune from Lund.

Not sure if they are the right size for this job but I've always kept a jar of lathe screws handy. They are self tapping, short, and have an extra wide head. They are for mounting stucco lathe onto steel studs but they work great for all kinds of things. I even used them for mounting door panels in an old '78 F250 after the clips broke, the heads look finished enough that it came out great.

Here's a quick thought, why not put a dab of jb-weld on the head of the screw and plate to prevent it from falling down into the valve train if it were to ever come loose. You'd have to loose half the screws and then the plate would fall, but that might work???

use screw eyes and run a cable through them, so if they fall, they don't go too far.

Are you running it with cats and the rear O2 sensors active? If not, the easiest way is to just use one of the rear O2 sensor bungs.

Yes, OEM cats and 02's are turned on.

Most cars have a default "safe" or "limp" mode when something like an o2 sensor isn't hooked up.

I started mine up yesterday without the o2 hooked up. Ran really, really rich for the half a minute it was on.

Sorry I meant to clarify. I meant the A/F wideband sensor.

I have will have the OEM sensor on the driver side of the midpipe but the Bosch wideband sensor that will read to the Aeroforce will be on the passenger side.

If you're just doing and initial fire I wouldn't be too worried about having the AF monitor on. If you were going to be driving it then I'd say it might be better to have the monitor. I'm sure Lund was pretty tame with the startup tune.
