It seems luck is on my side. The Phoenix opener got rained out so the first race of the season is Fontana next weekend.

I called Mel and asked about rentals and he said no problemo...

The points are assigned to the driver so you can bring a different car every event if you want. This was great news for me cause I was bummed about not making the whole season waiting on my car to be finished.

I am going to get a rental and be at Fontana next weekend. My car should be ready by the april vegas race, but if not, I'll use a rental again and be back in my car for the May 15th event back at Fontana.

Hopefully, I can pull a 'wheeler' and have some success in the rentals...:evillaugh:

Paul - if you can get out of that walker - you may be interested in this info as well...

BTW: I am going to be running the Open Comp and Mustang Madness classes this season...:thumb:

Pulling a 'Wheeler' = racing an event in a rental
As opposed to what?
Pulling a 'Wheeler' = Scattering internal engine components all the way down the track?

Sorry had to say it.

Hopefully I can pull some of his RT's or it's going to be an early day...:leghump:

A 4/10 pro tree is very difficult on a stock car...:angry1:

But I'm going to give it a go. I'm going friday to practice very deep staging...:beerdrink:

I don't think any of our cars will be there this weekend, anyway. Mine wont be. Mark's won't. Neither will Paul's. I'm not sure what Ken's bringing, but it may not be his Mustang... could be the Camaro, or dragster (or funny car, or snowmobile, or... haha).

No - I highly doubt Ken will be bringing the mustang. I'll bet he'll have the camaro and the rail...:beerdrink:

I'm kind of excited about running 13's - it's going to make me think my car is fast!

And I only scatter them from the 1000' mark on down. But that was pretty damn funny. :laughlots:

You won't need them. Pop the Traction Control button off and remove the "no-no" clip behind it. You can do all the burnouts you want. Then, turn the Traction Control back on before you stage.

Ladies and gentlemen... allow me to introduce you to CK Wheeler.

Well I didn't win, but I did a lot better than I thought...:thumb:

I went 3 rounds and then I got a reality check on the shelby hertz... and that is the car is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ICE COLD...

I was in two classes so the car was running very consistent and always warm cause the classes were always right next to each other. I was dialed in at 14.30 for the MM class and was averaging 14.34's and doing pretty well.

I got knocked out in the other class and then there was also a delay and when I made the next pass in the MM class, the car was ice cold. I figured about a 10th faster, so I lifted at about 50' out from the stripe and still ran a damn 14.08...:angry1: Couldn't believe the car was damn near a 1/2 second faster ice cold.

Oh well, I was happy to go three rounds and think I had a shot of winning if I would have known it was such a big difference and to kept the car warm.

Best part was my lights were decent. In the sportsman tree class, I cut consistent .040's with a best of .014 and on the 4/10 pro tree MM class, I cut consistent .140's with a nice .090 in there and I was really happy with those on that tree with a bone stock car. One pass in qualifying I went red by .002!

Anyway, good times and I was able to rack up some points...

Congrats Mark! And if you hadn't of lifted, you might have cracked the 13's. :laughlots:

BTW, how did Brandi finish up? I saw her win in Rd #1, but left before the next round.

No doubt the slowmobile sure made me appreciate my car...lol

Brandi did awesome - she went 3 rounds as well and might have gone the distance but had a little mishap in round 3. I'm assuming she was a little new to the 'deep stage' practice cause she tripped the red (rolled out) staging in the 3rd round. She was consistent throughout and did very well...:thumb:

She certainly blew her hubby away on the pro tree when it came to RT's...:LMAO:

Oops. Forgot to mention that one. These cars are so much quicker when they're cold. Not just the Shelby either although it benefits greatly due to the difference in the tunes.

Nice work, Mark. Damn....wish I had remembered to tell you that. Sorry, man.
