Ok so I'm looking to purchase a set of Pypes Longtube headers that comes with a o/r x pipe. My question is, how well would they fit and be. There is currently a sale on them and I definitely won't be paying the 1300+ for the kooks setup down the road. I currently have the roush stage 1 on my mustang.

Ive heard a lot of good things about the Pypes long tubes. Theyre the best cheap brand header out there, other than pacesetter but you HAVE to coat them. Google Pypes Long tubes and youll get a lot of good reviews. Oh and technically they are mid lengths not true long tubes but I dont think the power gains are affected really.

I have them on mine... Bought them used from here. Fit was perfect no leaks loud as hell life is good. I used factory gaskets and all the stage 8 locking hardware. Put them on when I did the k member and it was almost too easy. just get the ratcheting wrench and you will be happy

What size are the primaries? With a blower you are producing a larger volume of exhaust and would make sure the primaries are on the larger side than what your NA engine would normally run.

Didnt even think about that, the pacesetters or equivalent would be better suited due to their 1-3/4" primaries. Id be a little hesitant with them though, you was what happened to towelies coated ones.

Yeah, they are mild steel and even the coated ones are super prone to corrosion. Luckily I live in the high desert where that isn't ever going to be an issue. I've had mine on my car for 7-8 years with no issues. They lost their original sheen but they are pretty solid except for the couple of raspberries on the collectors where they have hit the road surface.

The pypes LT primaries are 1 5/8". Which is really only 1/8th bigger than the pacesetters.

I got the stainless steel pypes LT from American muscle and they didn't offer coating or were you referencing not the pacesetter to be coated if I chose those?

I bought a set of the mild steel ones for my 07 and coated them myself to save money but even then I wasnt comfortable to run them here in florida. I sold them to a member on modded and in the short time it shipped surface rust already started forming. Im pretty sure he got them jet hot coated and is happy with them.

Yea I was referring to the pacesetters having a crappy ceramic coated set that rusted out after a short time on his car.

The pace setters are just ok. I have had them for just over 2 years before i swapped to my new motor. I had them coated after the fact and even with that they rusted inside and out eventually.

We have used Pypes on various customer cars and personally on my NA 3V-yote and they are very recommended, probably the best of the lower cost header group.

coating really isn't needed

Ceramic coating reduced underhood temps on my 2010 with JBA LT's, which are SS..and ceramic coated inside and out. Shut the eng off..and 2 mins later I can push down hard with my fingers on any of the 8 x primary's. The oem exhaust ran blazing hot.

If I have the story correct, pypes LT's are just chinese knock offs of kooks lt's. I use a pair of pypes M80's just b4 the axle, and the 304 stainless they use stays shiny, zero problems so far.

I also used mating JBA high flow catted H. Just getting rid of the oem cats at the base of the eng bay will also reduce under hood temps a bunch.
