I want to put 3.73 gears in my car. To keep my warranty intact I believe I need a speed dial calibrating tool. If I was to get a programmer instead would that void the warranty on my car. What would be the best way about putting 3.73 gears in my car? Sorry this is such a noob question. Thanks!

i had a local shop install my 4.10's and used my sct to change the speedo back to normal.... i would ask ur local dealer if they can change it with their software.

My local dealer said it would void my warranty for rear, abs, and related items. He plugged my vin in the computer and it denied the 3.73s for my automatic car.

moved to chat. your dealer's an idiot IMHO. find a new one. gears may void the warranty on the rear end if something there failed other than that there'd be no cause to void your warranty.

I think his point was that the programmer that he would need to fix his speedo from the gear swap might create problems because it now has an 'aftermarket tune' in it, even though it may have just been installed to change the ratio.
