raptor shift light in a auto trans issue

Installed a raptor dual stage shift light in my auto recently. I wanted it for the launch mode at the track. Easier to set my rpms with a light than my ears. Launching at the proper rpm is a must against the pro tree in regards to getting a great RT.
My issue is since installing this light I am getting some weird gremlins. First when I go to put the car in gear, at times it will hesistate a second initializing the gear then it jerks the car as it goes into gear. Imagine a bad u joints...but its not the them or the tranny. Both are in perfect running order. The other issue is I noticed the speedo will flicker up to 10-15 mph right when I start to take off such as from a stoplight when the car is already in gear. It also does this right before I get the jerking motion (flicker the speedo). I really think it has something to do with the vehicle speed signal wire. I followed raptors alternate wiring instructions for the pcm and not to the coil.
Has anybody ever hooked up a raptor light with an auto trans here? Anybody ever have an issue like this? Again I have the dual stage light it has 4 wires to hook up. The single stage only has 3 wires so its a different wiring setup.

i have the raptor dual stage shift light also. although mine is a standard, i also had the speedometer problems. talked to the mfgrs about it and they wouldn't warranty it since it was already a year old. i disconnected the wire that does the speedometer sensing (IIRC) and it eliminated the problem. i went to a launchmaster instead, and only use the shift light for shifting.

Interesting that the speedo flickering is effecting a manual trans as well. I can almost live with that issue but the jerking of my trans when putting it in gear....thats a deal breaker. I dont even want to drive my car now. I'm gonna call raptor Monday.

cut loose the speedo wire and see if it stops it

Yeah that is my plan if raptor doesnt have any better ideas. No time to do it today. I will just drive my truck till I talk with them.

Update:

I cut the VSS, vehicle speed signal wire and the issues are all gone. Spoke to Raptor and they said the speedo flicker can happen on some cars for some reason. Just needs a capacitor on that wire to filter out the noise. They are sending me one. Nice to see a company back up their products.

glad you got it figured out. i would hook mine back up but i don't really need it any more with the launch master.

Final Update

Installed the capacitor sent to me by raptor. It has fixed all the issues. Car and light are performing perfectly. Used the light for the first time at the track this weekend. Took home first place!! Gotta love that.

good deal. im getting ready to pick up a raptor myself since I've went through 3 autometer cobalt shift light/tachs....pieces of shit.
