I searched and didn't see anything that would help. Has anyone ever bought one of the leather shift boots from Redline Goods? I'm trying to install it but, it's a real PITA!!!!

What are you having trouble with? Did it come with instructions? If not I believe they have a .pdf file on their site...

Well, It has slots where I am fitting it to the base. Then the bezel has to go on. Not sure its going to be a good fit. The top, on the stock boot, has a rubber ring to hold it in place below the shift knob. Do I tear it out of the stocker and fit it in the aftermarket boot and hold it in with glue?

That's exactly how I did mine, can get a new take off if you don't wanna jack up your OE piece.

Mine has the trim ring. It came stock like that. It's just not what I expected to get when I opened the package. Am I supposed to glue the trim ring on or press the tabs through the new leather?

Well you have to pinch the plastic to remove the plate and then the sheet metal screws go into the pinched pieces. The pinched pieces are hollow. Just don't buy screws that are too long or you will screw them right through the top of your console. I had some impressions where I almost went too far. Put the leather on the slots and then put the plate over that and screw it down. here are acouple of pictures that might help. Good luck.

Yep. I have the two pieces seperated. Just fishing around for the best way to do this without screwing it up.

I'm doing the shifter boot...

OK, I'm a dumbass because I thought you were doing the e-brake boot. :dunce:

I did the shifter boot a long time ago and then shit canned the thing because I didn't like that it didn't have a collar or anything for the shifter handle. Good luck with the project.
